SharePoint Setup, Migration & Support in Cape Town

Turn scattered documents and confusing shared folders into an organised SharePoint workspace, with access planned around the people who need it.

From scattered files to shared knowledge

Does this sound familiar?

Which document is the latest?

Staff email attachments back and forth, keep their own copies and struggle to find the approved version.

Who should have access?

New starters, departing staff and external collaborators make sharing difficult to keep track of.

Where are our procedures?

Policies, forms and company information are spread across folders, inboxes and individual computers.

We already pay for Microsoft 365

SharePoint may be included in your existing plan, but needs structure, configuration and staff adoption to become useful.

How StormDotCom can help

  • Plan the workspace: identify departments, document owners, libraries, naming and navigation.
  • Set up sites and libraries: organise team documents or an internal communication site around agreed needs.
  • Prepare and migrate files: review source data, plan a pilot, verify the move and agree how staff switch over.
  • Configure access and sharing: plan groups, ownership and external sharing with your business.
  • Help staff use it: explain everyday tasks, sharing links and finding the right version.
  • Support and review: help with administration, permissions and changes as your business develops.

We agree the project scope, licensing, migration approach and any training or ongoing support before work starts. Complex workflows and integrations are assessed separately.

Start with your documents and your people

1. Understand

Tell us where your files are, who uses them and what gets in the way.

2. Plan and pilot

Agree the structure and permissions, then try them with a manageable set of documents.

3. Move and support

Verify the migration, help staff adopt the workspace and agree ongoing support.

Questions clients often ask

Is SharePoint the same as OneDrive?

They work together, but serve different everyday needs. OneDrive is generally a person’s working file space; SharePoint provides shared sites and document libraries for teams and the organisation.

Can we move our file server to SharePoint?

Some document workloads are a good fit. We first review file types, volume, permissions, application dependencies and how staff work. Business applications and databases may need a different hosting solution.

Does SharePoint automatically solve access and compliance?

No. Permissions, sharing settings, document ownership and review processes need deliberate configuration. Licensing and your organisation’s requirements affect the available controls.

Do we still need to think about backups?

Yes. Microsoft 365 has built-in versioning and recovery features, but recovery requirements, retention and separately managed backups still need consideration. Explore backup and recovery.
