Managed SentinelOne EDR in Cape Town

Managed SentinelOne EDR helps detect suspicious activity, investigate threats and respond on supported endpoints. StormDotCom helps put the technology to work for your business.

Protection needs a response plan

Endpoint detection and response (EDR) combines endpoint security with activity visibility, investigation and response tools. The important questions are which devices are covered, who reviews alerts and what happens when a threat is detected.

Detect suspicious activity

Behavioural and other detection techniques help identify malicious activity. No security product prevents every attack.

Investigate and respond

EDR provides evidence and response capabilities, such as endpoint isolation, subject to platform, policy and licensing.

Keep coverage visible

Review supported devices, agent status and protection policies as your environment changes.

Connect protection and recovery

Plan endpoint security alongside identity protection, email security and separately managed backups.

What we discuss in a protection review

  • Your current antivirus or EDR product and which workstations and servers it covers.
  • How alerts are reviewed, who owns the response and what your support agreement includes.
  • Deployment compatibility and whether existing endpoint products should be replaced or reconfigured.
  • Your backup coverage and what recovery would involve after an incident.

EDR, antivirus and backups: clear answers

How is EDR different from antivirus?

Modern antivirus can also use behavioural analysis and other advanced detection. EDR adds investigation visibility and response workflows; compare the actual features, configuration and management of the products involved.

Does ransomware rollback replace backups?

No. SentinelOne rollback is available for supported Windows scenarios and depends on the product configuration and usable local recovery data. It is not a guaranteed recovery of every file, device or workload. Maintain separate backups and test your recovery process.

Is EDR the same as a 24/7 security operations service?

No. EDR is a technology capability. A managed detection and response service, staffing and after-hours incident handling must be explicitly included in your agreement.

Can we keep our existing antivirus?

We review compatibility first. Running overlapping endpoint products without planning can cause conflicts or performance issues.
